The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) on Saturday participated in the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) Day event at the Lilongwe Golf Club, using the platform to promote the Malawi National e-Procurement System (MANePS).

The Authority also provide direct support to suppliers and procurement professionals, forming part of PPDA’s ongoing efforts to ensure that stakeholders fully understand and effectively utilize the digital platform.

Throughout the event, PPDA officials operated an information and support desk where participants received guidance on various aspects of the system.

Acting Director General Timothy Kalembo hailed the event as a strategic platform for bringing MANePS closer to procurement and supply chain stakeholders.

He emphasized that Government directed the mandatory use of MANePS by all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) effective 1 April 2026, making stakeholder awareness and support critical to the successful implementation of the system.

The Authority’s E-Procurement Manager, Yvonne Kasamba, engaged extensively with suppliers attending the event, receiving feedback on their experiences with MANePS and responding to concerns raised by users.

The interactions provided PPDA with valuable insights that will contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency, accessibility and effectiveness of the platform while strengthening relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
